Kabat is a Czech rock band. It was formed in 1984. They began to play trashmetal but local offices did not have any admiration for the group. That is why they did not have any public concerts during first years and the members were often replaced. In 1985 the call - up orders stopped their activity for almost three years.
On the 1st May 1988 they got together to return to their old trashmetal. In the course of time their style developed to the classical rock. However, various other music styles (for example country or big beat) penetrate into it.
Their grouping has not changed much since 1988. Some time around 1990 they began to characterise their style as "Czech hashish with North Czech rock and roll".
In their first album they reveal their experiences from the Czech provinces which they later link together with "new America". They made their first recordings for Rockmap and then for Monitor. In 1991 they produced their first album called "Ma ji motorovou" with the original cover where is a real Czech pig farm. One year later they produced a live album from their concerts in Brno and Trebic. Afterwards they produced the album called "Colorado" and one year later the album called "Zeme plna trpasliku" followed by the album called "MegaHu". Their last album from the year 2000 was called "Go Satane go".
Melodiousness of the songs as well as their art of playing guarantee their popularity among all generations.
